We've seen the "amoeba flame", so I guess this is the "amoeba swim". There are three types of overlapping "things" on the shirt.

Ok, I have not seen Paul in maybe 18 years. I graduated high school in 1987 and saw him regularly then. I am amazed that even not having seen his face in the paisley shirt, I would still recognize him. I remember this shirt.
